Dartford boasts 4 skeet layouts (English, Olympic, and NSSA), Olympic trap, Compak, Universal Trench, Down the line, Automatic ball trap, and sporting all at the same venue.
The trap disciplines are something I’ve not got too involved in yet, having tried DTL and ABT a couple of times it seems a to be something that needs dedication to achieve top scores…at the expense of sporting its not really something for me.
Skeet is quite a good discipline to learn many of the basic shots in sporting clays, most sporters started off on the skeet fields…including the likes of Big George and co.
The Skeet competitions are regularly put on at weekends, where you can register your CPSA scores if you wish, bigger competitions are also organised with larger prizes and varying skeet disciplines.
The skeet shoots are very popular, and draw shooters from all over the country. Kent selection team shoots are held here as a selected ground for the CPSA.
This is one of the only places to shoot the big skeet competitions in Kent. Some of the shoots are run by the English Skeet Club and some are registered to the NSSA.
