Welcome to my blog, it’s mostly about clay grounds that I shoot on a fairly regular basis.
As I’m based in Kent most grounds will be within a days travel there and back, but on the odd occasion I’ll post the grounds that are further away, like when we shoot Competitions, or off on a long weekend away.
I’ve been shooting for about 4 years now, I started at Hawley Clay Shooting Ground near Dartford on a Saturday morning with a couple of mates. I never thought I’d be interested until that first time I went…then I was totally hooked.
Largely, I blame my friend Neil who insisted that I come along, and Nick who taught me the basic skills and encouraged me to shoot elsewhere to find more challenging presentations. Some folk are happy to stick with the grounds they know, and make shooting an enjoyable social occasion (which I think it always should be), I decided to expand my horizons….
It seemed like an absolute era before my license was issued, with that came the freedom to pick up my gun and venture off to new grounds, and try some new disciplines I knew nothing about.
So, this is my brief impression of some of the grounds that I’ve shot at. Certainly not all of them, just my local favourites and one or two that I can’t leave out. I’ve included some video footage in a semi edited raw-ish format.
Hope you enjoy and find this website useful, please find me on Facebook, link at bottom of the page.
If you want to add any comments or suggestions or have any photos or short videos you’d like adding, get in touch.
The videos on the site are fairly high resolution to capture the clays in flight… so please be patient while they load.
John.
I’ll update this as and when I feel the need/inclination, but for the time being stay safe, and enjoy the shooting.
